Sonnet Mondal is an award winning poet. He has authored seven full length books of poetry, the latest being Diorama of Three Diaries (Authorspress, New Delhi).

Sonnet is the inventor of the 21 lines fusion sonnets form of poetry which he introduced in his book 21 Lines Fusion Sonnets of 21st Century (Sparrow Publication). He was bestowed Poet Laureate from Bombadil Publishing, Sweden in 2009 and his works have been translated into Macedonian, Hindi, Italian, Chinese, Telugu and Arabic.

His works have appeared in more than a hundred international literary publications including The Macedonian Stremez, International Gallerie, World Poets Quarterly, The Journal of Poetry Society of India, Holler of Princeton Poetry Project, Magazine of New Castle Centre of Literary Arts & New Castle University, Red Ochre Lit and Other Voices Poetry Project (endorsed by UNESCO) to name a few. He was inducted in the prestigious Significant Achievements Plaque at the museum of Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur in 2011 along with Padmabhushan Badal Sircar, Pandit Budhadeb Dasgupta, Sahitya Akademi winner Narayan Sanyal, Binoy Majumder and Jatindranath Sengupta, nominated for Pushcart Prize in 2011 and was featured as one of the Famous Five of Bengali youths by India Today magazine in 2010.

He has also been a featured poet at Asian American Poetry project and World Poets Quarterly. The Herald of India and the United Magazine listed him in the list of achievers in 2010. His other honours include Ascacra International Poetry award, Doctor of Literature from UWA, Yuvashakti Utkarsha Samman and Red Ribbon Poetry Award. Sonnet is the founder managing editor of The Enchanting Verses Literary Review, Editor of Best Poems Encyclopedia, and the Sub Secretary General of Poetas Del Mundo.
